My paintings begin with a photograph taken by either me or my husband. I especially enjoy photographing birds and then using the photos as references for my paintings. 

I love letting the water and pigment have its way with loose, watery, and splashy backgrounds and then getting into detail at the heart of the subject, be it the feathers of an owl or the eyes of a child. I hope you enjoy viewing my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them!
